Did the luggage turn up ??? Yes it did at about 10.30 last night the airline delivered our bags to the Hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel we all walked a few kilometres into the city & checked out the 'bakery & sausage shops & other more boring shops while Wendy spent about 16 hours getting her Iphone rebuilt by some physics professor. While this was happening we had morning tea at the bakery & looked at some other boring shops, checked out the old quarter of town, then went back to the bakery to buy some emergency pastries to take home. Frankfurt is very pretty & quite relaxed, unlike hustle, bustle Brisbane.
On the walk home we checked out another bakery & bought a small snack to eat while we were walking home.
Germany has very good bakeries.....
I neglected to mention the bike reassembly which took place in the board room of the hotel.
It all went quite well, until 4 pm this afternoon when we went for a test ride.
While I was riding out of the car park I had a major rear derailer malfunction which pulled the derailer into the spokes & bent a couple of spokes & left the derailer looking like wet spagetti. Needles to say I did not partake of the test ride with the others. I spent the next 1.5 hours trying to fix the derailer with very limited tools. It is now working, but not properly, so tomorrow if I can't get it right its off to the bike shop for a new derailer.
I think things will get better from now on. But we are still enjoying ourselves regardless.
Dinner tonight was at the steakhouse & Yvonne has taken to drinking 0.5 litre glasses of beer with wine chasers. German beer is very, very good.
