Rothenburg..87 klm. Yvonne battles on.

Yvonnes' knee is swollen & very painful to walk on, but slightly less painful while riding. We reloaded Yvonnes' largest pannier bag to my bike to take some weight off her bike. It has made mine very interesting to ride, especially uphill.
The weather has been perfect for todays ride, with sunny, dry conditions & temperature back in the thirties again. Today was a rural traverse. not following any rivers or canals. We are in Bavaria & country is so lush & green. We had a section through forrest that had a VERY steep descent on loose gravel, that saw several riders dismount & walk down the hill.
I am quite worried about Yvonnes' knee as it is swollen & causing her a lot of pain. She stayed behind on this afternoons walk around Rothenburg, so I brought her home some recuperative ice cream. Tomorrows ride is a little shorter so she has elected to ride again, but if things don't improve we will have to train it for a couple of days to give her knee a rest. Yvonnes' effort was magnificent today with her sore knee.
My bike is now quite loaded

No rivers today, but still very pretty,

A very civilised morning tea venue.

The very friendly girl at morning tea.

Great bikeway, great country.

On & on & on we go.......

This old sledge & shed were at our roadside lunch stop.

Rothenburg is a walled city & like everything else, is very old, dating back to the early 1300s'

Rothenburg.

The front window of the salami shop in Rothenburg.

Some confusion in the complex streets of Rothenburg

Nice window box & reflection. These are everywhere.

Some sort of festival parade today. There were heaps of these covered wagons.

Yvonne enjoys a big yellow drink during dinner, after a very tough day for her.

    1. Not stopping at Frans was probably a very good move. You will probably live longer that way
